The hammock and ancient civilizations
It is interesting to understand that in certain indigenous tribes of South America, the hammock represents more than a single "furniture" for relaxation.
When a person reaches the end of their life, as surprising as it may be, the hammock becomes a funeral bed. The elderly and the sick peacefully await their last breath there. Then the body remains suspended in the hammock while their relatives make preparations for burial. Before being buried, the deceased is wrapped in his hammock, and accompanied by his most precious objects. Discover the story of the indigenous Tanaru who lived 27 years in total isolation. Sensing the proximity of death, he chose to await its arrival peacefully in his hammock.

The San Jacinto hammock: A durable hammock
Our XL "Indígena Original" hammock is woven with extra fine acrylic yarn (Miratex). It is a blend of cotton and acrylic, which makes it very resistant to the sun and repeated washing. Due to the quality of its yarn, you can pass this hammock down to your children, knowing that it will last for years.
Double-sided hammocks are quite rare on the hammock market. An undeniable aesthetic plus which allows you to appreciate the embroidery on one side, and on the other side, you can see the reliefs in different colors. We advise you to alternately use the two sides of the hammock in order to preserve the embroidery. It would be a shame to damage it with rings, buttons or other accessories.
